2026 Canton Fair Solar Security Zone: 5 Product Categories You Should Focus On

Compartir

The 140th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4, 2026, in three phases. Phase 1 (October 15–19) focuses on consumer electronics and information products, new energy, electronic and electrical products, and related industries. For security industry buyers and integrators, solar-powered surveillance cameras are among the most worthwhile categories to examine in detail during Phase 1.

However, with over 32,000 exhibitors and hundreds of solar camera booths, products look alike and sales pitches sound the same. How do you screen for genuinely capable products in limited time? Going in with clear priorities is far more efficient than wandering the aisles.

The following five product categories are the most important focus areas at the 2026 Canton Fair solar security zone.

Category 1: 4G/Dual-Mode Solar Cameras–The Mainstream Category Dominating the Floor

Why it matters: In the first half of 2026, 4G models accounted for over 50% of outdoor surveillance camera sales for the first time, up 14.4 percentage points year-on-year, fundamentally changing the outdoor monitoring landscape that previously relied on wired or WiFi connections. 4G cameras don't depend on broadband WiFi—just insert a SIM card and you can view footage remotely. Combined with solar power, they enable complete standalone operation in "no power, no network" scenarios, with growing demand from rural homes, orchards, fish ponds, and construction sites.

At the show, focus on models that support both 4G and WiFi dual-mode. Dual-mode products adapt flexibly to different network environments, meaning lower inventory pressure and broader scenario coverage for integrators.

On-Site Verification: Ask whether the 4G module supports the frequency bands required by carriers in your target market. Inquire about antenna isolation (quality dual-mode products should achieve ≥20dB isolation) to ensure the two network modes do not interfere with each other.

Category 2: MPPT Charge Controller Models–The Dividing Line for Overcast-Day Endurance

Why it matters: The biggest headache for solar camera buyers is "30-day endurance on the spec sheet, but the camera dies after three consecutive overcast days." The charge controller is the key component determining overcast-day charging efficiency.

PWM controllers can drop below 50% charging efficiency in overcast, low-light conditions. MPPT controllers use DC-DC conversion to keep the solar panel at its maximum power point, harvesting 10-30% more energy under typical conditions, with even greater advantages in low light. With the same solar panel, MPPT-equipped models deliver noticeably better endurance in rainy weather than PWM models.

On-Site Verification: Ask directly: "Is it MPPT or PWM?" If the answer is "smart charging" or similarly vague, it's likely PWM. Request the controller's internal disassembly photo—genuine MPPT typically reveals ferrite-silicon-aluminum magnetic cores with full potting.

Category 3: LiFePO4 Battery Models – Determining Total Cost of Ownership

Why it matters: Battery chemistry is the single biggest predictor of long-term reliability. Conventional 18650 lithium-ion cells degrade sharply after 300-500 charge cycles. Since solar cameras charge and discharge daily, conventional Li-ion shows meaningful capacity loss within 18-24 months.

LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries offer 2,000-5,000 cycle life at 80% DoD, usable depth of discharge of 80-90%, and superior low-temperature performance compared to conventional Li-ion. For deployments in remote areas where replacement costs are high, LiFePO4 is almost always the necessary choice.

On-Site Verification: Ask directly: "Is the battery LiFePO4 or NCM ternary lithium?" Follow up on cycle life test data and the DoD at which it was tested. Legitimate manufacturers should provide third-party test reports.

Category 4: Integrated All-in-One Design Models – A Revolution in Installation Efficiency

Why it matters: Traditional solar cameras require separate installation of the camera body, solar panel, and mounting brackets, making the process cumbersome. Integrated all-in-one designs combine the solar panel, battery, camera, and antenna into a single enclosure, enabling single-person installation in about 15 minutes.

For integrators deploying in volume, installation efficiency directly translates to labor cost savings. Another advantage of integrated design is fewer cables and connectors, reducing the risk of water ingress and poor contact during long-term outdoor use.

On-Site Verification: Focus on the overall protection rating (at least IP66 recommended, IP67 preferred), the sealing structure between the solar panel and the enclosure, and the adjustability of the mounting bracket.

Category 5: AI-Enhanced Detection Models – From "Seeing" to "Understanding"

Why it matters: In 2026, solar cameras are no longer just competing on pixel count. Manufacturers are bringing black-light full-color night vision, AI human/vehicle recognition, and multi-lens panoramic capabilities down to mid-range 4G models. AI human/vehicle recognition effectively filters out false triggers from leaf movement and changing shadows, significantly reducing false alarms—particularly valuable in farm and construction site scenarios where PIR is frequently triggered.

Additionally, perovskite solar technology is beginning to enter the solar security space, with some manufacturers unveiling "never-charge" perovskite-powered smart cameras at CES 2026. While still early-stage, it's worth learning about related vendor progress at the show.

On-Site Verification: Test the AI detection response speed and accuracy on-site. Ask whether the AI algorithm runs locally or in the cloud—local processing is faster, doesn't depend on network connectivity, and saves data traffic.

Fsmart: A Manufacturer That Welcomes On-the-Spot Questions

At the Canton Fair solar security zone, Fsmart's core A20 and B20 series solar 4G cameras offer corresponding technical solutions across all five product categories above:
4G/WiFi Dual-Mode: The A20 and B20 series support both 4G and WiFi network modes, with independently designed dual antennas addressing co-channel interference through structural layout and frequency band avoidance
MPPT Controller: Equipped with a genuine MPPT charge controller, achieving over 30% higher charging efficiency than PWM under overcast low-light conditions
Custom BMS: Features a custom-developed BMS protection board delivering triple hardware-level protection against overcharge, over-discharge, and over-temperature, with every BMS board undergoing 48-hour charge/discharge cycle validation
IP67 Protection: Validated through both IPX6 water jet (100 L/min) and IPX7 immersion (1-meter depth / 30 minutes) testing, plus -40℃ to +85℃ thermal shock and 96-hour salt spray testing
Measured Endurance: Under simulated overcast conditions (200-500 lux), demonstrated stable operating duration of 14+ days
